ATC EL50 Anniversary Loudspeakers

To celebrate over half a century of producing extraordinary loudspeakers, ATC Audio has launched EL50 Statement Anniversary model.
It is the latest evolution of the legendary ATC 50 loudspeaker design, revised and upgraded with new discrete, 3-channel, 350W amplifier and the culmination of ATC’s active speaker technology and expertise.
Active loudspeakers, unlike passive, contain internal amplification, crucially after the crossover, so each driver gets its own dedicated amplifier channel, meaning fewer compromises in the crossover network and tighter control of each drive unit. Passive loudspeakers require an external power amplifier (so one more box and set of cables).
These limited edition EL50s include:
⁕ New elliptical curved cabinet designed for low diffraction and optimal radiation from the mid and high-frequency drive units, resulting in improved balance and stereo imaging
⁕ ATC renowned precision hand-built drive units, engineered for low distortion and high dynamic range
⁕ Stunning leather detailing on the front face and beautiful hand-selected veneers
Its industrial design draws from the EL150, released in 2006, the first ATC loudspeaker to employ an elliptical enclosure and designed by ATC founder, Billy Woodman.

Of course a speaker of this magnitude and no compromise quality is not cheap – £49,500 to be precise – and only 50 pairs are planned for production, but EL50 looks like a fitting representation of ATC Audio’s deserved place amongst the very elite of loudspeaker manufacturers.
